FAQs

Dan Elliott, Umbra Design Display Picture

Where are you based?

I’m located in Margate, a small seaside town situated alongside Broadstairs and Ramsgate in Thanet, Kent.

How much do you charge for your services?

As each graphic design project is unique, it is impossible to give a set price for a design without first discussing what is required with the client. A simple one page website isn’t going to cost anywhere near as much as a multi-page website with a blog and shop section, neither will a simple text logo cost as much as an intricately designed icon. The more information I am given about a project, the more accurately I can provide a quote to a client as the project’s cost will be directly linked to the number of hours required to complete it. In most cases, a 50% deposit is taken before commencing the project, with the balance to be paid upon completion.

When can I expect to receive my finished project?

This is another hard question to answer as there are many factors that can either speed up or slow down a project’s completion! I aim to complete projects as quickly as possible whilst making sure that you’re completely happy with the results. Most projects will require feedback from the client during the creative process, and the quicker I receive a response, the quicker I can get back to working on completing the project. Some projects can take days, some can take weeks, and some are ongoing! Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to discuss a project and I can hopefully give you some sort of idea as to how long it may take to complete.

What will I receive?

For most logo and graphic design projects, you will receive a .zip archive containing your new designs in multiple layout, file and colour formats (JPG & PNG, RGB & CMYK) for use in print and online, as well as an editable PDF document and all original Photoshop or Illustrator files used for creating the designs. Confused? No problem, I will also let you know how and where to use each file as applicable. The Copyright for the designs will be transferred to the client upon final payment of the project. For websites, you will receive all log-in information for the site and any relevant services relating to it.

Still have a question?

Please feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have and I’ll do my best to answer them as quickly and accurately as I can!
